The Forgotten Fund is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit made up entirely of volunteers. We consist of Chattanooga Firefighters, Hamilton County EMS employees, Hamilton County Sheriff employees and other volunteer organizations. 100% of all funds donated go directly to our goal of no child will be forgotten on Christmas Day.
The organization has expanded its outreach by distributing toys to children affected by disasters all year round. Moreover, they coordinate a Coats for Kids program, distributing more than 5,000 coats annually in collaboration with different volunteer groups. Last year, The Forgotten Child Fund brought Christmas to more than 13,000 children.
On Christmas Eve, the Santa Train, stretching 3 to 4 miles long and featuring firetrucks, police cars, and other first responder vehicles, forms a caravan to deliver Christmas joy. With flashing lights, blaring horns, wailing sirens, and Santa cheerfully waving, we journey to the homes of families. Witnessing the smiles on the children's faces and the appreciation from the parents makes our Christmas as magical for us as it is for the children.
Our organization provides support for Hamilton County, North Georgia, Alabama and we provide assistance as far as Murphy, North Carolina.
Our office is open Monday thru Friday from 10am to 2pm. We are closed on all Federal Holidays.
